Credit Union History
Service 1st Credit Union is a state chartered, federally insured financial institution. All savings are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF). This fund is administered by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an independent agency of the U.S. Government.
- 1939 – The Credit Union was founded as Tamiami Bus Lines Credit Union.
- 1989 – As the Credit Union added other transportation and industrial companies, the name was changed to Transportation and Industry Credit Union.
- 1996 – In order to better reflect our expanding membership base, the name was changed to Coast to Coast Credit Union.
- 2006 – The Credit Union made a promise to its members to provide the best service possible and act in members’ best interest. With this promise came the final name modification, which constantly reminds members of this promise – Service 1st Credit Union.
Service 1st Credit Union is committed to the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” by offering our members low cost loan products, low fees, and competitive dividends on their savings deposits.
